No post yesterday and not a very long post today - I'm compensating with a collection of photos that sums up the last few days. There are photos of Phnom Penh, Toul Sleng death camp, and Svay Pak which will give you an idea of what I've been seeing lately.
As for today and yesterday, they were, in short, good. Good work - much was accomplished. Great lunch - as usual! Lots of paint splatters all over me - somehow, I always end up being the messiest painter around! Go figure. Kid's club today was wonderful, as before - Ratanak the assistant pastor is doing a absolutely fantastic job with them, helped by a team of great Khmer teen volunteers. The girls from NewSong were here again, and they blew my mind just as much as, if not more than the first time I saw them. God is a healer, and he is truly doing a great thing! Also, I was talking to Don Brewster (head of NewSong) and he told me that of the 800 chruches (!) they'd planted in Cambodia, the one in Svay Pak was probably the first to require a second service because of how many people were attending! How great is that?! One other great thing about the last 2 days was the realization that the workers in the Sanctuary are starting to become much more comfortable around us. While the Khmer are a people who smile often, whether happy, angry or sad, lately their smiles seemed more genuine and came more often.
But what do I know? I'm just a crazy barang.
In Christ
